这首歌收录在专辑《Born To Die 》里，这首专辑里的歌大部分都是打雷为死去的男朋友创作的，比如Blue jeans里她唱道：I'll love you till the end of time ，但男友去世了，打雷在

Born to die中表达了自己想和他在一起的愿望，比如这句歌词：

The road is long, we carry on

Try to have fun in the meantime

但最终她意识到这已不可能，We were born to die .

在单独看Dark Paradise 这首歌，从歌词也大概能推断出打雷想表达的意思。手机打字，就大概叙述一下，就不用优美的文字描述了=_=

在男友死后，朋友们都来安慰打雷姐，希望她能从悲伤中恢复过来，但她却像沉浸在忧伤的海洋中一样，无法逃离。哪怕“Even though you're not here, won't move on”

这句的意思就是打雷姐忘不掉男友，脑海中都是他的音容笑貌。

下面这句就很有浪漫色彩了：

打雷姐觉得男友的灵魂还萦绕在自己身边，希望她能好好生活下去，但打雷姐却想自杀与男友相见。

副歌部分：Every time I close my eyes

I'm scared that you won't be waiting on the other side

这一部分的音乐也很吸引人。歌词的意思就是打雷姐说自己一闭上眼睛，想起男友就像进入dark paradise ，dark paradise 的意思就要个人理解了，我理解的是打雷姐认为男友在paradise ，而自己只有回忆，无法真正陪在男友身边，所以自己的回忆与想象就是dark paradise 了。（为什么有种做语文阅读理解的感觉…）

同时打雷姐说自己没有自杀的唯一原因是怕男友“won't be waiting on the other side”。

That's why I stay here

朋友们问打雷姐为什么一直不肯忘掉男友，打雷姐说她靠着对男友的爱生活下去。

（打雷姐一直都这么真爱至上，是的。）

最后一部分大概都是一个意思了：

意思就是打雷姐梦到了男友，梦到男友“feel you touching me”，所以她希望一直留在梦中不愿醒来。
